[Podcasts] Discovering the X-Files: “Aubrey”

Despite a rather generic title that refers to a town in the story, as opposed to a character, “Aubrey” is one of the best episodes of the season. What we have here is not on a great supernaturally-tinged serial killer yarn, but also a precursor to The X-Files sister series, Millennium. Not only that, but we get a powerhouse performance from Deborah Strang (Kiss the Girls) and the always-welcome Terry O’Quinn (Lost) shows up in a nice supporting turn. This episode is a bit different from what we usually expect from this show, but it’s a winner…

Episode 2.12: “Aubrey” (1995)

Teleplay by Sara B. Charno

Guest starring Deborah Strang, Terry O’Quinn, Morgan Woodward, and Joy Coghill

A pregnant police woman experiences visions that lead her to the remains of two FBI agents who went missing in the 1940s while on the trail of a serial killer that later got caught. The killings begin again but the only suspect is now 77.
